Where Did My Repeaters Go?

If you migrated a template from V2, you might've noticed your repeaters are gone or look different. That's because V3 removed page-based layouts altogether. While V2 had discrete pages that needed repeaters to force elements across them, V3 uses a continuous canvas instead. Since there's no "each page" anymore, repeaters don't exist as a block type, but you can still get the same result with a different approach.

How It Works

In V2, repeaters automatically duplicated elements (like headers, footers, or watermarks) across every page. V3 doesn't work that way. Instead, when you migrate a template, those repeaters become individual shapes scattered on your canvas.

The trick to recreating that repeating effect in V3 is using the PDF Page Break Guideline. This guideline shows you exactly where a page will break when you export to PDF, so you can position your header or footer element consistently at that spot, the same way repeaters used to do it automatically.

Step-by-Step Instructions

If you don't need repeaters anymore

1. Simply delete the duplicated shapes. Since V3 doesn't have page-based repetition, they're not serving a purpose anymore.

If you want headers, footers, or watermarks on every page

1. Keep one of the migrated shapes from your template, and duplicate it per page.
2. Go to the PDF Page Break Guideline and enable it to see where pages will split.
3. Line your header or footer element up against that guideline so it lands in the same place on every exported page.
4. Test your PDF export to confirm the element appears consistently across all pages.

Setting up from scratch (not migrating)

1. Add your header, footer, or watermark element to your canvas and duplicate it as necessary.
2. Turn on the PDF Page Break Guideline to see where page breaks occur.
3. Position your element(s) against the guideline so it's in the same spot on each page.
4. Export to PDF and verify it looks right before you send.
