Your Move to New Proposify Starts Here!
Ready for a fresh, faster Proposify experience? You're in the right place. This guide walks you through everything you need to migrate your templates from V2 to V3, smoothly and at your own pace.
Before You Begin
Migrating is simple, but a few features are still on their way to V3. Take a quick look before you start so you know what to expect:
- No zoom, in-editor image cropping, or shape rotation yet
- No layers panel for reordering overlapping elements
- No form fields or initial blocks yet
- No approval workflows, audit trails, password-protected PDF downloads, custom sending domains, or sending from your own email address yet
- Repeaters work a bit differently in V3; since it uses a continuous canvas instead of pages, repeaters as you know them don't exist here (this one's a permanent change, not a "coming soon")
Good news: everything above (aside from the repeaters change) is on our roadmap! If your templates lean heavily on one of these features, you can hold off migrating that one until it's supported, or migrate now and revisit it later. Either way, your V2 templates stay fully accessible in the legacy portal for as long as you need them.
Prepare Your Templates (Do This First)
A little prep goes a long way toward a smooth migration.
- Clean up unused content: Remove images, snippets, or sections you no longer need. A lighter template migrates faster.
- Turn on your fonts: Using custom or brand fonts? Go to Settings > Fonts, search for each font, and turn it on before migrating. (Skip this and V3 will use Times New Roman as a placeholder.)
- Check your page size: V3 currently supports Letter size, in both portrait and landscape. Orientation carries over automatically. If your V2 template uses A4 or Legal sizing, just plan on a quick reformat after migrating.
- Note any advanced features: Pricing tables with recurring fees, discounts, or formulas, as well as fee libraries, will need to be rebuilt manually after migration.
How to Migrate a Template
This is the fast part - migration itself takes just 2–3 minutes.
- Go to your Templates page.
- Find the template you want to migrate.
- Click the three dots in the upper-right corner when hovering over the template.
- Select Migrate Template to V3 and confirm in the pop-up.
- Watch for the green bar at the top of your screen; that means migration is underway.
- Once complete, find your template in your V3 Content Library.
Now for a quick once-over to make sure everything looks great.
After Migration: What to Check
Think of this as your final polish; a quick pass to make sure everything's exactly how you want it.
Images: Check that images came through at the right size and crop, without extra padding. If something looks off, re-upload or reposition it.
Tables & Pricing Tables: Give spacing and sizing a glance. Row/cell colouring and border styling aren't customizable yet, so no need to fix those. Any recurring fees, discounts, taxes, or formulas will need to be rebuilt manually, since that logic doesn't carry over automatically.
Shapes & Lines: Since rotation isn't supported yet, shapes or lines that were angled in V2 will appear straightened out. If the angle mattered for your design, just reposition it or delete and recreate it.
Text & Formatting: Scan for text needing a colour or style refresh, especially anything that defaulted to "Normal Text." Reapplying your formatting will have it looking right again.
Overlapping Elements: Some layered elements may need a quick adjustment after migration. Check that overlapping pieces are stacked the way you want, then click an element to select its layer (the most recent addition sits on top) and reorder as needed.
Signatures: Signature blocks come through unassigned, so take a moment to assign each to the right internal user or client before sending. Missing an initial block? Swap in a standard signature block instead.
You Did It!
Congratulations, you're officially migrated to New Proposify! 🎉 Send yourself a test document to see your template in action. And remember, your V2 templates and data are always there in the legacy portal whenever you need them.

Frequently Asked Questions
Setup & Preparation
Do my companies and contacts need to be re-added?
Nope! Your companies and contacts from V2 are automatically ready to use in V3. If you use a CRM, you can select clients directly from it when creating a document - no import needed.
Will my Content Library images and snippets migrate?
Not in this phase, so plan on re-adding images and snippets to your V3 Content Library. Good news: anything already placed inside a template comes across with it during migration (just give it a quick check afterward).
Do I need to redo my user roles and permissions?
Yes - V3 comes with a redesigned, more flexible roles and permissions system. Take a few minutes to set it up in a way that matches your team.
Features & Functionality
What happens to my repeaters?
V3 uses a continuous canvas instead of discrete pages, so repeaters work a little differently here. They'll migrate as individual floating shapes you can repurpose as headers/footers or remove. See Where did my repeaters go? for the full guide.
Where are my form fields?
Form fields aren't supported in V3 yet, so they're left out during migration for now. See Where did my form fields go? for easy workarounds.
My signatures look unassigned, what happened?
That's expected! Signatures migrate as unassigned blocks, so just assign each to the right signee before sending. Initial blocks aren't supported yet and won't carry over. See Where did my signatures go? for the full walkthrough.
Why do I need to reconnect my integrations?
V2 and V3 run on separate integration systems, so a quick reconnect from the Integrations page gets you back up and running. Note that a few V2 integrations (like QuickBooks) aren't available in V3 yet. See Why do I have to reconnect my integrations? for step-by-step help.
Will my pricing tables work the same way?
Mostly, yes! Basic pricing tables carry over just fine. Advanced logic- fee libraries, recurring fees, inline discounts, formulas- will need to be rebuilt manually for now. See Where did my fee library, recurring fees, and discounts go? for how.
My font changed to Times New Roman, why?
Easy fix: your font likely isn't turned on in V3 yet. Head to Settings > Fonts, search for it, turn it on, then reapply it to your template from the text formatting menu. See Why did my font change? for details.
My template's spacing looks a little different, what happened?
Orientation carries over automatically, but custom page dimensions don't (V3 currently supports Letter size). If your V2 template used a non-standard size, a quick spacing adjustment will have it looking sharp. See Why does my migrated template look different? for tips.
Why can't I reorder my layers or edit/crop images in V3?
V3's editor doesn't have a layers panel yet, so overlapping blocks need to be clicked and adjusted one-by-one instead of reordered directly. In-editor image cropping isn't available either, so images need to be edited externally before uploading. Both are on the roadmap. See Why Can't I Reorder My Layers or Edit/Crop Images in V3? for workarounds.
What about videos?
V3 currently supports Vimeo and YouTube. If your template uses another provider (Vidyard, Wistia, etc.), just swap that block for a Vimeo or YouTube link.
After Migration
What happens to my V2 documents and metrics?
They stay safe in the legacy portal, accessible anytime via the legacy switcher at the top of your document list. V3 tracks its own fresh metrics separately, so you get a clear, unclouded view of what's working in your new setup.
Do I have to migrate all my templates at once?
Not at all! Anything you haven't migrated stays fully accessible in the legacy portal. Move at your own pace - we recommend starting with your simplest templates.
What features are still coming to V3?
As mentioned above, several great features are on the way: approval workflows, audit trails, password-protected PDF downloads, custom sending domains, sending from your own email address, shape rotation, image cropping, and form fields. Need one of these urgently? Reach out to support, and we'll help you find a workaround.
